birds and housewives

Every Wednesday afternoon while Jules has tennis practice, Jeanne and I try to do something fun together. We take a walk, shop a bit, talk, go watch a movie. She also loves to go to ‘the little bridge’ as she calls it.
Of course, not every Wednesday is all fun and play, unfortunately there are days where I just need to do laundry or do some other ‘housewife’ things , I wish I could say I wouldn’t have to do these things, but hey, I know I am not alone in this. Sometimes I dream about having my household totally under control, just like my mother did when I was a kid, but in my defence, I work full time as a teacher, have two kids, a husband, friends, two blogs… I just hàd to let that go.
As long as our little fam bam has clean clothes and we (yes, my Husband tries to help wherever he can) get to cook a (healthy) dinner for them every night, I am happy. That just has to do. We decided to get some help around the house as well. Els, the best help, comes over every Thursday afternoon to clean and iron a bit. Because of her work we can spend more time together instead of having to clean the house. I could not do it all without her. OK, ok, I know I could, but still, I am happy I do not have to. Yes, I choose familytime over cleaning. I know that help around the house costs us money, but we love time more than we do money. That always spotless house, I will have that, once, when the kids are out of the house, maybe. So, dear Husband, give it some time.. One day, I will be the perfect housewife.. or not. Either way, you’re stuck with me, ha!
