mornings

As you may know, or not, I am not a morning person. It is getting better, but I prefer the mornings to be quiet and calm. Which is of course not always the case with two kids. OK, let me correct that, it is not always the case with Jeanne in the house. Jules is easy. He gets dressed, does not make a fuss about his clothes, hair, shoes, coat. With Jeanne I feel like every morning is a battle, so we changed some things in our routine and the last week was much easier. I let her choose between 2 outfits before she goes to sleep so she can’t argue about that when she wakes up. I also let them make their own breakfast. They get to take their own bowl, spoon, yoghurt, fruit (and/or muesli), … and help each other. I don’t mind the mess afterwards, the calm wins.
